Celebrate the start of the 2023/2024 Theatre Season with ice cream! This year's season will be announced and Thespian and Jr Thespian Induction pins and certificates will be handed out.
Our annual Renaissance Festival field trip is back. Take a trip back in time to the English Renaissance, eat a turkey leg, and watch amazing performances from Theatre in the Ground, the Swordsmen, The Washer Women, a real joust, and more!

Celebrate all our accomplishments made over the 2023/2024 season with Thespian and Jr. Thespian Inductions, production awards, and a senior and 8th grade sendoff. Please bring a dessert or snack to share.
Students in grades 6-12 can attend this great event with a TON of theatre opportunities. Seniors can audition and interview for college theatre programs, high school students can audition for All Ohio Production, and everyone can compete in the Thespy competition and attend workshops.

Thespys used to be called IEs. This is a competition where Thespians and Jr Thespians can compete with others in theatre categories such as Solo Musical, Duet Musical, Monologue, Duet Acting, Dance, Pantomime, Film, Playwrighting, Stage Management, Light Design, Costume Design, Costume Construction, Set Design, Prop Management, Sound Design, and Theatre Marketing. This year the competition is happening at Thespian Fall Festival

Jr. Thespian Conference is an amazing two day event where middle school students attend workshops, compete in Thespys, participate in Improv and Tech Challenges, and perform our one act.
For: Grades 6-8 (plus HS improv staffers)
Dates:
Depart March 1 at 4PM
Return March 2 at 6PM
Place: Seven Hills School (Cincinnati Ohio)
Cost: est $125 (includes one night stay in hotel, dinner Fri night, breakfast and lunch Sat, t-shirt, and conference entrance)

State Thespian Conference is an amazing three day event where high school students attend workshops, perform in Thespy showcase (for those selected to perform in showcase from Thespian Fall Festival), watch performances from schools all over Ohio, work on the All-Ohio production, and network with other theatre students.
For: Grades 9-12

Return March 24 at 6PM
Place: Sylvania Northview HS (Toledo OH)
Cost: est $250 (includes two night stay in hotel, three meals on Sat, breakfast on Sun, t-shirt, and conference entrance)

Held during the last week in June at the University of Indiana in Bloomington, Indiana this is truly a festival that celebrates theatre by bringing together theatre students, teachers, and professionals from all over the country. Attendees watch nationally recognized performances, attend workshops taught by national theatre professionals, and can compete in Individual Events on a national level (NIEs).

The STARs program is currently on hiatus but will hopefully return soon. Please read below to know more about STARs so you can plan for the future.
STARs is an AMAZING way to meet and work with theatre students from all over Central Ohio while planning and helping run Central Area Conference. STARs are reponsible for the Area Conference theme, as well as conference t-shirt, decor, opening and closing, what workshops are taught, what food is served, and much much more. STARs are lead by the Central Area STO.
In order to becoming a STAR, you have to:
1. be in grades 9-12 (you don't have to be an inducted Thespian)
2. love theatre and working with others
3. fill out the STARs paperwork
4. attend all STARs meetings (you can miss 1)
5. attend Central Area Thespian conference (Jan 12th at Bexley HS)

The Bexley Theatre Parents do fundraising throughout the year in order to provide scholarships for all Bexley Theatre students to attend conferences and theatre events as well as larger summer camps and outside theatre activities. A students parent(s) must be members of the Bexley Theatre Parents for that particular school year in order to receive a scholarship. Click here to learn more about membership.
There are two ways to earn scholarships:
1. For scholarships to attend conferences and events: Talk to or email Rebecca Rhinehart. All scholarships and scholarship inquires are kept strictly confidential.
2. For summer events and outside theatre activities: Download and fill out the scholarship application form by clicking here and turn it into Rebecca Rhinehart who will give it to the Theatre Parents board for review. Scholarship applications should be turned in at least two months before the activity/event occurs and will be approved/denied within a month of receipt.
