Middle School Musical Auditions

Rehearsals start approximately on Sept 17, 2026.
Performance dates are November 19-21, 2026.
Who can audition: grades 6-8
Audition Form Due Date: August 30
Learn the Audition Dance: August 31 3:30-5:30PM Dargusch Theater
Auditions: September 8 and 9 from 3:30-6:00PM Cassiongham Theater
Callbacks: September 10 3:30-6:30PM Cassingham Theater
Steps to audition:
1. Complete and submit the audition form by August 30, and read the Participation Guidelines.
2. Students DO NOT need to memorize anything in order to audition.
3. Attend the Learn the Dance workshop on October 21 from 3:30-5:30
4. Students will be emailed their audition numbers and sides on September 4
5. Attend auditions on Sept 8 from 3:30-6:00. Students will be acting parts from the script and learning some songs from the show.
6. Students choose an audition song from those learned. Practice the song and dance at home.
7. Attend auditions on Sept 9 from 3:30-6:00. Students will sing the song they chose and perform the dance. We will then begin vocal callbacks.
8. Check this website on the Callback List on the night of Sept 9
9. Attend Callbacks on Sept 10 from 3:30-6:30 if name is on the list
10. Check this website on the Cast List page on Friday afternoon after callbacks.
11. If your name is on the Cast List, please check your email for the rehearsal calendar and other important information.
What you need to prepare:
Students DO NOT need to prepare anything for auditions. You just need to turn in your audition form by August 30.
Students should wear clothing and shoes that are comfortable to dance and move in. This audition has the same structure as the auditions for Bexley High School and Elementary School musicals.
Callbacks are a time when the director can see specific students read for specific roles and get a better understanding of where he/she fits into the cast. Simply because a student is on the callback list does not necessarily mean he or she will earn a part. Also, if a student is not on the callback list, that doesn't necessarily mean he or she has been cut. Only students listed on the callback list should attend callbacks. You can find the callback list on the callback page. It may be that callbacks won't be necessary. In that case, the cast list will be posted after the second audition date.
